EV time calculator

Compare charging speeds with the bottleneck made clear.

The effective power is the lower of the charger output and the vehicle’s charging limit, with efficiency applied to the grid energy required.

This constant-power estimate is useful for AC charging. DC fast-charging power usually tapers as the battery fills and changes with temperature and station conditions, so real DC sessions can take longer.

Why real charging time can differ

The constant-power calculation divides estimated grid energy by effective charging power. It is most useful for rough AC charging comparisons.

DC fast charging is not constant

A fast-charge session normally tapers as state of charge rises. Battery temperature, preconditioning, charger sharing and vehicle software also affect power. Without a verified vehicle-specific curve, the result remains a transparent estimate rather than a promise.
